A caring community working towards a cleaner city and river
Maribyrnong has seen an increase in unsightly rubbish being left in the streets. Not only does the rubbish look terrible it ends up in the mighty Maribyrnong River which flows into Port Philip Bay. Rubbish is either washed down the drains or blows down the banks of the valley into the river. After heavy rains it is common to see a flow of plastic bottles float towards the bay and rubbish collection traps can’t keep up.
This is a great opportunity for Maribyrnong residents to meet their neighbours, clean up our streets and river and have a coffee. It’s a super awesome thing to do.
