In this experiment, we are cleaning the same 35 m section of a beach along the tide line every day.  The plastic picked up is categorised in to 13 categories and recorded.  This helps identify the source of the plastic.  But more importantly, with doing this survey every day, then over time we are potentially able to quantify how much plastic is being washed ashore around the Port Phillip bay it self or even how much plastic is IN the bay!  The maximum number of plastic bits we have picked up on one day so far is 2800 within just that 35 m.
