3941Rye May beach clean by 3941@beachpatrol.com.au

It was a perfect afternoon. We cleaned the same stretch of beach as last time, hoping to find no rubbish, but alas, there is always more. Thanks to all our willing helpers!

Rye on CUAD by admin

We joined with the Rye Action Group and collected 35 bags of rubbish. Also included in the collection were an old basketball ring and stand, an armchair, beach chairs, bottles, cans, a large styrofoam box and the always present cigarette butts and chupachups sticks.

An estimated 35 kilograms in weight, excluding the large items.

Well done to 59 volunteers, 39 adults and 18 children! We were sustained by sausages cooked and donated by the Lions Club—a big thank you!
