3207Extra Clean March for Lairdet St Festival by admin

With the local street festival coming up this weekend, two 3207Beachpatrol  Members did an extra clean up to gather some rubbish to show off at the stall we had at the festival.

Just walking the high tide line of Port Melbourne Beach we picked up a mass of plastic film, straws and cups.

3207 Westgate Park Clean on CUAD by admin

A 3207Beachpatorl member organised her own clean on the banks of the Westgate park at the punt for CUAD.  This is always a high rubbish area with a lot of debris coming down the Yarra river.  But not to say the locals on Lorimer St do not throw away a lot of litter too.

A massive 15 large sacks were filled.  278 Bottles and cans

3207 Cleanup Australia Day1 Mar by admin

About 28 volunteers came out on this national clean up day to clean the Sandridge Beach.  The beach was relatively clean with most people getting 1/2 bag or less.  The rock groins that extend out into the water had nurmerous cans and bottles in them however.

101 cans and bottles were recovered

2 syringes were picked up

35 Volunteers cleaned one of the Port Melbourne beaches today.  A bit chilly and overcast day didn't deter them.    90 Bottles and 18 bags of rubbish
