The long S. Melb beaches don't have the corners to trap larger plastic bits.  What we find on these beaches is lots of small items.  Most commonly bottle top plastic lids and plastic straws.

10 People came out today to clean about 600 m of beach front.

3205 December Clean by admin

Our December clean saw 12 volunteers come out on a lovely partly cloudy morning.  The volleyball court beach harboured many small fragments of plastic.  Due to the recent onshore southerly winds, the tide line needed our attention.

Pre-Christmas Beach Patrol by 3205@beachpatrol.com.au

Just days before Christmas, these wonderful people came down to South Melbourne Beach to volunteer their time and clean the beach.

We found so much plastic and - my greatest nemesis - lots of tops from tiny fish-shaped soy sauce bottles.

Here's your New Year's pledge, Melbourne: quit the door sauce bottles!

See you all next year!
