3198 BeachPatrol Covering the Seaford Beaches

3198 BeachPatrol
The Seaford Foreshore Reserve is one of the few remaining substantial, continuous strands of natural coastal vegetation near Melbourne. Seaford is notable for this reserve, which divides the beach from Nepean Highway along the whole length of the suburb. This reserve was the site for an extensive dune restoration program undertaken by the Port Phillip Authority in 1972, under the title of the "Seaford Experimental Project".

The program involved extensive areas of fencing, revegetation and the installation of walking tracks, seats, tables and shelters. The Seaford beach is a long stretch of beautiful beach and 3198Beachpatrol wants to keep it that way. We meet once a month to spend an hour cleaning litter off our beach, then go to a local café afterwards for a coffee and chat. We meet on Sunday mornings. Sign up to get on our email list for cleaning notifications. See us on facebook too

Apologises for the delayed post:

HUGE THANK-YOU to the 29 amazing people that spent the morning with us on Sunday July 17th picking up the many thousands of tiny plastic pieces that littered Seaford beach.

A big shout out to B Alternative for their collaborative effort holding a stall with 3198 Seaford Beach Patrol at the Seaford Farmers Market.
Great to see the positive response to our plastic pollution education from our community. Puts a smile on our faces : )

Thanks for attending the Clean Up Australia Day Clean at Seaford Pier March 2020
We had 24 wonderful volunteers who collected 26.5kgs total, 13kgs of recycling and 13.5kgs of litter, including 91 bottles and cans.

FC Council ute present at site when arrived at 8.30am from a distance appeared to have 4 orange bags in the back of ute

Site appeared a lot cleaner than have previous experienced.

A volunteer was noted to remark that it seemed as if someone had cleaned it up very recently.

Last year in 2019 there a FCC representative collecting rubbish however I asked him for what he collected and he gave it to us so we could include it in our count.
