3198 BeachPatrol Covering the Seaford Beaches

3198 BeachPatrol
The Seaford Foreshore Reserve is one of the few remaining substantial, continuous strands of natural coastal vegetation near Melbourne. Seaford is notable for this reserve, which divides the beach from Nepean Highway along the whole length of the suburb. This reserve was the site for an extensive dune restoration program undertaken by the Port Phillip Authority in 1972, under the title of the "Seaford Experimental Project".

The program involved extensive areas of fencing, revegetation and the installation of walking tracks, seats, tables and shelters. The Seaford beach is a long stretch of beautiful beach and 3198Beachpatrol wants to keep it that way. We meet once a month to spend an hour cleaning litter off our beach, then go to a local café afterwards for a coffee and chat. We meet on Sunday mornings. 3198 Seaford August Beach Clean by 3198@beachpatrol.com.au
The freezing, wet and winding day could not hold us back!
Understandably we only had a small turn out for the Keast Park clean up but we were fortunate enough to have the inspiring and dedicated Neil Blake join us.
3198 Seaford July Beach Clean by 3198@beachpatrol.com.au
Thanking the 15 volunteers that dedicate their time each month to our beach cleans! We love the enthusiasm and community spirit you bring to the day.

The rough winter weather has been pushing large amounts of debris to shore. We are mostly finding plastic fragments, broken up styrofoam, old cans and bottles and plastic food wrappers that appear to have been floating around for some time.

We hope to see a shift in behaviour and respect towards the environment in our community as we lead by example.

See the Seaford crew next month at Keast Park!
Seaford Beach Patrol June Clean by 3198@beachpatrol.com.au
Thank-you to the 14 legends that removed another 17kg of waste off Seaford Beach on Sunday.

Don't forget that plastic free July is about to begin, we love everyone for their dedication and for being selfless to give up their time and make our beach beautiful again but wouldn't it be so awesome if the beach cleans weren't needed.

NEXT CLEAN is on SUNDAY JULY 23rd, 10am at Seaford Pier

Thanks for attending the Clean Up Australia Day Clean at Seaford Pier March 2020
We had 24 wonderful volunteers who collected 26.5kgs total, 13kgs of recycling and 13.5kgs of litter, including 91 bottles and cans.

FC Council ute present at site when arrived at 8.30am from a distance appeared to have 4 orange bags in the back of ute

Site appeared a lot cleaner than have previous experienced.

A volunteer was noted to remark that it seemed as if someone had cleaned it up very recently.

Last year in 2019 there a FCC representative collecting rubbish however I asked him for what he collected and he gave it to us so we could include it in our count.
