3184BeachPatrol Covering the Beautiful Elwood Beaches

3184 Beach Patrol

3184 Beach patrol looks after the beautiful Elwood beaches. It is sandwiched between the 3182 and 3186 zones. The Elwood beach is a particularly attractive beach for local families. Its wide light coloured sandy beach with gentle lapping waves makes it an ideal picnic and swimming destination for family and friends. When clean, the beach is a gorgeous site. Lets keep it that way!

Elwood Beach Patrol dates for 2018: We meet at 9 am, see next beach clean up info on the home page or our facebook page for details of meeting point.

Clean up locations are also updated in the "Next 3184 Beach Clean" box on the right hand side of this page. The meeting location will be updated a few days prior to the clean up:

Huge turn out at Elwood this month! by 3184@beachpatrol.com.au

Thank you Elwood volunteers for an amazing start to the year! We had such a great turn out and everyone put in a great effort. The beach needed our TLC after the recent hot weather.
Regardless of the fact that the beach cleaning machines had been out that morning, we still collected over 25kg of rubbish including so many fragments of harmful plastics, cigarette butts, empty bottles etc. This month's star find was a large empty suitcase, which we then used to collect other large pieces of litter.

There is more hot weather to come and our beach will attract many visitors so keep up the good work Elwood crew!

Next clean up is on Saturday 17th February at 9am, meeting on the beach side of Elwood Sailing Club, by the rocks.
The dates and locations of all our 2018 clean ups are now available, as listed on the Elwood page of the Beach Patrol website here https://beachpatrol.com.au/BeachGroups/3184

Also, a big thank you and welcome to the several new volunteers who joined us this time. We're very happy to have you on board!
See you soon.

Elwood finishes 2017 on a high note by 3184@beachpatrol.com.au

We had a beautiful morning for our final clean up of 2017 and it was great to see several new faces too. We cleaned up around Point Ormond and although the beach looked clean enough on first sight we still collected around 15kg, a good haul considering that most of the litter was small fragments. Well done to Rob who found an O-bike seat and successfully relocated it to a nearby bike.

Thanks to Ian and the Point Ormond cafe for a special end of year coffee and catch up.

Merry Christmas and happy end of 2017. See you in January.

Beautiful Elwood Beach in November by 3184@beachpatrol.com.au

Our November clean, held on Saturday 18th, was a great session with a
strong turn out and several passers-by signing up to the team! As is
often the case, the beach was looking clean but we hauled at least one
kilo of rubbish per volunteer on the day, as there was plenty to be
collected on the rocks and in the bushes. In addition to this, the
beach was still rife with smaller plastics and other little pieces that
the cleaning machines don't pick up. So our great team effort was well
worth it. Special thanks to Terry from 3182 Beach Patrol for lending me
his kayak to collect some floating litter!

Thanks to all for a
great effort! We will be out for our end of year clean up on Saturday
16 December at 9am, this time meeting at the Point Ormond car park.
Until then, this warm weather will attract crowds to our beloved beach
so if you get the chance to do any cleaning up please do so! Our beach
and the marine and bird life are all the better for it!
