3184BeachPatrol Covering the Beautiful Elwood Beaches

3184 Beach Patrol

3184 Beach patrol looks after the beautiful Elwood beaches.  It is sandwiched between the 3182 and 3186 zones.  The Elwood beach is a particularly attractive beach for local families.  Its wide light coloured sandy beach with gentle lapping waves makes it an ideal picnic and swimming destination for family and friends.  When clean, the beach is a gorgeous site.  Lets keep it that way!

Elwood Beach Patrol dates for 2018:    We meet at 9 am, see next beach clean up info on the home page or our facebook page for details of meeting point.

August sunshine on Elwood Beach by 3184@beachpatrol.com.au

This morning the chilly winter wind did not deter our committed team of volunteers.  We were rewarded with glorious sunshine and were reminded just how beautiful our beach and the bay can be.  Thanks to all, new recruits and regulars alike, as we combined forces today to make our beach cleaner and safer for marine life and the local community.  While
the amount of litter collected was low in weight, it was high in potential harm factor due to most of it being little fragments of plastic/ polystyrene.  Taking this sort of rubbish away from the bay is critical to the health of marine life.  Well done!

Elwood's July clean up by 3184@beachpatrol.com.au

Our wonderful volunteers turned up in droves to prove that the cooler weather would not deter us from cleaning our beloved beach! Thanks to all who participated. We had nearly 30 people, including several new faces, which is great to see. Our beach really needed the love. There was so much waste everywhere, particularly small pieces including lots of plastic and cigarette butts. So much of what ends up on the beach comes from our city streets and is washed down here or blown in from the surrounds. You all did a great job collecting approx. 46 kg! That's a new record!

See you on 18 August for another clean up starting from the front of Elwood Sailing Club.
