Very successful clean up in the new Riverwalk Estate. 16 volunteers (many children) managed to collect an enormous 263kgs of litter from this site that when it rain, feeds into the Werribee River. The figures are a bit alarming and include 68kgs of plastic, 45kgs of cardboard, 30kg of styrofoam, and only 7.5kg of food type containers, with only 20 bottles and cans. This is rubbish is clearly from the building of new housing estates, even though this site was cleaned around Christmas by the developers. Thanks WRivA Science Officer for getting us down to this location.

Hampton Community Centre was our destination for our April clean. It was a cold windy winter morning, with lots of cigarette butts around Woolworths Carpark.  17.5kgs of rubbish collected: 54 recyclables, 612 Cigarette butts and no syringes. Thanks to the 3 volunteers who were able to come along to help keep our streets clean for our wildlife and prevent the litter entering our drains.
