LOS 3183 & 3185 Ripponlea: last clean for 2019

A small, but happy band braved the chilly wind and soon warmed up as we cleaned Balaclava. Our haul totalled 12.5 kg: 200 butts (bringing the annual total to over 12,000), 32 bottles and cans, one syringe. Thanks for a great effort over the year everyone. Thanks to Las Chicas for the warming drinks.

Elsternwick Park Love Or Street: final clean for 2019

A smaller group than usual, with nine volunteers defying a chilly wind. Still plenty to clean up: old, deteriorating umbrellas; lots of soft plastic fragments trapped by the vegetation following recent windy weather; still finding old and fresher bottles and cans from drinkers using the reserve. Eels were spotted in the lake in the reserve.

3188 Beach Clean December 2019

Celebrating another year to finish 2019 with Hampton Beach Patrol's Christmas party at the coffee shop on Jetty Road. Volunteers who attended were given a small gift to say Thank you for their efforts. It was a very cold and windy day, and winter coats were required. A hot drink was required to warm our hands which was warmly welcomed. Hampton Beach patrol group headed back to the Dog Beach next to the Sandringham Yacht club  9.1kgs of rubbish was collected: 10 recyclables and no syringes. Thanks to the 10 volunteers who were able to come along to help keep our beaches clean. This month Hampton Beach Patrol welcomed one new member.

Sunday's March clean was bathed in beautiful sunshine that saw 21 volunteers collect 11 kg of rubbish of the beach. It was relatively clean except for the ever present cigarette butts.
We had another big turnout of kids which is great to see and interest from new volunteers.

Thank you for attending the November 2019 Clean!
We had 24 brilliant volunteers including 3 kids who removed a total of 11kgs off the beach.
9kgs of litter and 2kgs of CDS including 53 bottles/cans.

Notable: pollywaffle wrapper found - expiry said May 1989

3161 LOS clean up November the 24th

On November the 24th, we clean the streets around Malvern station.

The 3 of us collected 28kg of rubbish and 700 cigarett butts.

A focus on railway station would definitly make a difference in the amount of rubbish ending in Port Phillip Bay.
