I've only been with Beach Patrol for a year but today was the largest about of litter removed from the beach I have ever seen! We had 50 amazing volunteers (24 not in the photo) join us to help clean up our beaches! In total we picked up 68.6kgs including 95 bottles and cans. 51.8kgs of rubbish and 16.8kgs of recyclables!

25 people in photo + photographer = 26 volunteer hours

24 people left between 10.40 and 11. approx 18 left with 15 minutes to go so subtract 15 minutes x 18 = 4.5 hours subtract

4 left on 11 and 2 left half hour prior - so subtract another hour -

- .75 for group leader who only got 15 minutes on the beach picking up litter = 43.75 volunteer hours

LOS 3162 Clean-up 10 August 019

Joined by members of the Elwood Plogging Group, 11 of us braved a very Wintery morning to clean up Caulfield South shopping strip and surrounds. Together we picked up 13.1 kgs of landfill, 10.2 kgs of recycling, and 7.2 kgs of hard waste, and stopped this going down drains to the Bay. Also notable was a large dumped rubbish spot, which was reported to the Council via Snap Send Solve. Great job everyone!

We had nearly 40 people show for the clean and to say goodbye to leader Hazel Stanworth, who is moving overseas.

We had lots of children and teens helping out on this beautiful winter morning. Lots of plastics, takeaway containers. We also collected a higher amount of fishing wire than usual.
