Mordialloc 3195 July Clean
Chilly but beautiful morning for a clean. 28½ kg of rubbish was picked up by 13 fabulous volunteers. Not so many cigarette butts as they were prob washed out by the storms and around into the creek. Thank you to all the Mordi volunteers.

Today the Love Our Street 3030 team included 13 adults, 6 children and 1 baby and we cleaned around the Werribee River, behind the Watton Street shops and several of the city car parks.

Together we removed a whopping 293 kilos of litter from our city. A lot of this was building supplies, with 60kilos of tiles, 40 kilos of roofing panels, several pallets & some scrap metal. It would seem the enforcement of the rules that apply to builders/renovators is pretty slack. According to John Forrester, the Werribee Riverkeeper, who joined us today, a lot of these building supplies have been on site for sometime.

The kids had a great time and enjoyed the free share of sunglasses Lisa bought along kindly donated by her neighbour. Morning snacks went down a treat, thanks to some extras provided by Alicia.

With such a big haul from the Werribee City Centre, the Wyndham City rubbish collectors were a little shocked with the amount the Love Our Street 3030 team collected today.

Thanks you Love Our Street 3030 team:

Courtney, Trish, Felix, Ebony, (baby Felix), Shellianne, Donna, Meg, Graham, Keven, Lisa, Rosey, Brooke, Sophie, Violet, John, Arnold, Alicia, Cobus and Edith.

A wet July morning but 22 faces showed to clean the streets and gutters near Hopetoun Gardens, Elsternwick, preventing 21.7 kgs of stuff entering our Bay. Merci beaucoup to everyone who came out, especially new young faces, and those who donned berets for our Bastille Day French theme. Vive la Revolution de "Clean-Up"!
