3193 BP Ricketts Point Beach Clean - May 2019
Well done all those that braved the weather with us on the beach at Ricketts Point yesterday, 4 May. It was a bit wild and wet but everyone still managed to pick up plenty of litter! There were 14 volunteers that helped to clean up the beach, collecting 11 bags of rubbish in total, roughly 28 Kg of litter.

Thanks to Beth, Ian and Scott for leading the beach clean on 6 April whilst I was away. Beth's comments from the day:

It was a lovely, relaxing day on the beach, great to have some new joiners! There were 18 volunteers that helped to clean up the beach at Black Rock on the day, collecting 15 bags of rubbish in total, roughly 30 Kg of litter. Well done and thanks everyone for your hard work!

Lovely to see everyone considering the hot weather and great work cleaning up in the heat and supporting Clean up Australia Day! There were 22 volunteers on the beach along the section at Beaumaris Yacht Club.

3193 February 2019 Ricketts Point Beach Clean

We had 39 volunteers helping clean up the beach and foreshore near the Beaumaris Life Savers Club at Ricketts Point. Everyone did a great job. In total we collected roughly 70 kg of rubbish, the equivalent of 24 full bags of litter, including roughly 540 cigarette butts, 29 glass bottles, 21 plastic bottles and 28 cans.

3193 Beach Clean Ricketts Point - 5 Jan 2019
Happy New Year everyone, lovely to see so many beach cleaners on what was a bit of a grizzly start to January 2019!

It may have been a bit of a wet morning and the middle of the holidays but there was still 27 volunteers that turned up for our beach clean south of teahouse/beachside cafe at Ricketts Point.Thanks all of those that were able to attend and brave the weather!

3193 December Christmas 2018 Ricketts Point Beach Clean
We had 41 volunteers helping to clean the beach at Beaumaris Yacht Club for our Christmas December Beach Patrol. So lovely to see you all and what a scorcher of a day, 32C!


In total we collected roughly 40 kg of rubbish, the equivalent of 15 full bags of litter, including roughly 410 cigarette butts, 12 glass bottles, 10 plastic bottles and 12 cans. Other items were polystyrene, dog poo & bags, bottle tops, straws, soy sauce packets, and a bunnings hat!

Over 30 people turned up to our November Beach Patrol, on a beautiful 21°C day – balmy with a light wind – so good to see so many smiling faces. 

Thirty-two people collected 79kg of rubbish. Over 37 bags were filled, with 1027 cigarette butts, 92 glass bottles, 50 plastic bottles and 26 aluminium cans.

A super job by everyone who helped clean up the beach and foreshore around the Beaumaris life savers club at Ricketts Point! There were 20 volunteers on the day and overall 18 full bags of litter were collected.

3193 August 2018 Ricketts Point Beach Clean
A bit of a blustery morning but the sun was out for us during the beach clean! 26 volunteers came along to help clean up the beach at Beaumaris Yacht Club, Ricketts Point - thank you everyone for all your efforts. We had one member travel from Wheeler's Hill via 3 buses - what dedication! 

In total we collected 16 bags of litter estimated at 35 kg in weight. Most common items were; micro-plastics, nurdles, polystyrene and cigarette butts
