BP - 3193 - Nov 1 clean - thank you

On a wild, wet and windy morning, we had our first beach clean at Half Moon Bay, Black Rock.

Despite the terrible weather, and the fact that it was the Melbourne Cup long weekend, 25 volunteers turned up, including Ross and Ramona from Beach Patrol Australia, both members of Port Melbourne beach patrol.  Many thanks to you all, and to our visitors!

3193 BeachPatrol Rickets Prelaunch

Welcome to the first inaugural members who turned out to the 3193BeachPatrol Rickets Point clean.   This was a mini clean before the first official clean.

We picked up 6 kg of rubbish in the 1/2 hour spent.

Points of concern noted were the amount of fishing line on the beach in tangled messes.  Second was the amount of litter coming down the stormwater drain into the bird sanctuary that would attract the birds to forage there.
