We kept to our usual first Saturday of the month to hold our registered Clean Up Australia Day event. It's a long weekend, so it was great to see some of our regulars could make it and it meant a couple of new members could join us in a break from usual commitments.
Our volunteer time raised $250 in credits for the Ecocentre’s Living Waters projects to improve water in the catchment of Elster Creek.
Compared to the same time and location last year, the same number of volunteers collected under half the volume and under half the number of drink containers. Cause for hope?
Sadly, about the same number of cigarette butts.
