Six volunteers spent over an hour clearing litter from this reserve that is sadly impacted by loads of dumped rubbish and littering behaviour. In one patch in the vegetation right next to the creek, there were lots of drink containers, litter from snacks, swathes of shade cloth, two dumped office chairs and a dumped shopping trolley.
We will continue to seek support from Melbourne Water to have them remove the worst of the litter.
At least the waterbirds and other creatures are a bit safer for now.
