This month was a special beach clean as beachpatrol 3193 and the MarineCare Ricketts Point group, collaborated with Half Moon Lifesaving Club to support an exciting project; Beach art, waste and environment (BAWE)! It was a gorgeous winters morning, full of sunshine and little wind.
32 of our group made a special effort to collect litter at Half Moon bay. Not only have we helped to improve a different section of our beautiful beaches, the litter we collected was cleaned and sorted to create artwork as part of the BAWE educational workshops.
This partnership has been a great opportunity to raise awareness of pollution in the bay and to meet other like-minded people.
