Beach volunteers were busy in our area in the month of June undertaking 20 individual clean-ups on top of our group cleanup. 76 volunteers dedicated 60 hours to cleaning up our seven of local beaches. We removed 12353 pieces of rubbish weighing in at 43.3kg (a lot of it was microplastic that doesn’t weigh much).
The most common plastic item was plastic remnants followed by Nurdles.
Our Monthly Pick up was at Golfies East Beach Port Fairy. 21 people, 1 hour pick up, 3 kg.
