An express 30 minute clean-up focussing on a litter 'hot-spot', as we have 'Spring Clean the City' later this month. In just half th usual time, 17 hardy volunteers collected a whopping 78.5 kgs along Sir John Monash Drive, next to Caulfield Station and opposite Monash University. This included 122 recyclables, 10 7-11 coffee cups, 25 kgs of landfill waste, 200 cigarette butts, and 40kgs of dumped rubbish / hard waste. It's hard to believe that so many people walk past and accept this stuff being there, but it's gone now. Thanks to David Southwick MP for coming down, recording our data and taking our photos! And thanks everyone who came along and cleaned our streets.
