I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous morning for my last beach clean as coordinator, I really am grateful to have been a part of BP and MCRP and again so lovely to see lots of you.

A big thank you to everyone for all your efforts to clean up the beaches, helping me the events over the years and for making them a success, this is also thanks to the huge support from Joel as well as Ross, Ramona and MCRP committee.

Last Saturday, we had 26 volunteers out on the beaches near the Beaumaris Yacht Club, Ricketts Point.
Together we collected 14 bags of rubbish in total, roughly 30 Kg of litter. A lot of small plastic items were collected, most common being fragments, wrappers, polystyrene and cigarette butts (roughly 650).

Recyclables were mostly found in the foreshore vegetation and near buildings/car parks; 18 glass bottles, 13 plastic bottles and 3 cans!

The main items we found were plastic chip & confectionery bags, plastic fragments, cigarette butts (roughly 340). Other items were straws, bottle tops, dog poo in bags, tennis balls, rope, broken glass, fishing line, balloons, wood and coffee cups.
