Well done all those that braved the weather with us on the beach at Ricketts Point yesterday, 4 May. It was a bit wild and wet but everyone still managed to pick up plenty of litter!
There were 14 volunteers that helped to clean up the beach, collecting 11 bags of rubbish in total, roughly 28 Kg of litter.
The main items, were plastic fragments, cigarette butts and confectionery/ chip wrappers. Recyclables removed were 11 bottles (4 glass & 7 plastic) and 2 cans. There was also quite a lot of straws, nurdles, bottle tops, metal bottle caps, a metal rod and wood.
