Over the summer period our beach volunteers took time to collect marine debris off our local beaches. We collected 2644 items off beaches between Warrnambool and Port Fairy. Our most common items were fishing rope and plastic fragments.

Following NYE 2019 fireworks, we found grey plastic cartridges on a number of our beaches. We contacted our local council who followed it up with their fireworks contractor. We have been assured plastic cartridges will not be used in future fireworks (see photo.)
