While it was a 'fresh' morning with increasing cold wind, we had approximately 90 people participate in our first ever clean-up. It was great to see people of all ages getting involved, especially many families who decided to all come and work along and work together. We focused on the area between Eastern Beach and the Limeburner's Point boat ramp. The team collected 93.33 kilograms of rubbish and 2,194 cigarette butts! The area around the boat ramp and it's carpark was a real 'hot-spot' of rubbish including a large number of cans and bottles as well as fast food packaging and plastic bags. This area will be an ongoing focal point for our group. Also collected on the day were some larger items including a car tyre, plastic crate, wooden stake and some bricks.
