Lovely to be back and to see lots of volunteers at the beach clean on Saturday, great work!
A bit of a blustery morning but the sun was out for us during the beach clean! 26 volunteers came along to help clean up the beach at Beaumaris Yacht Club, Ricketts Point - thank you everyone for all your efforts. We had one member travel from Wheeler's Hill via 3 buses - what dedication!
In total we collected 16 bags of litter estimated at 35 kg in weight. Most common items were; micro-plastics, nurdles, polystyrene and cigarette butts (roughly 500).
Recyclables; 8 glass bottles, 4 plastic bottles and 7 cans. Other items collected; plastic containers, straws, car jack, socks, tyre tube, milk crate, tile spacers, nylon net, carpet, balls & fish shaped soy sauce bottles.
