Even though it was very windy and cold 30 people turned up for our first official Marine Care Ricketts Point 3193 Beach Patrol on Saturday 5th of July. In the one hour patrol, we picked up 23 shopping bags of rubbish with plastic bottle tops, straws, plastic fragments and confectionary wrappers being the most common items found. The most unexpected item collected; wooden coat hangers. We were very lucky that the rain held off until we gathered back at the starting point. The enthusiasm and energy was fantastic. Afterwards we regrouped in the Teahouse for a warm cuppa and chat.
