The temperature felt icy but spirits were warm as we had 20 volunteers join us for what was a more sizable haul than we would've liked. After 45 minutes of combing the beaches and footpaths down at the foreshore, we recovered a staggering amount.
- 32kg of rubbish
- 47 aluminium cans & bottles
- 100+ cigarette butts
- 1500+ pieces of plastic
Although we hadn't been down there for a while we collected a lot more than what we thought we would have and were able to remove a significant amount from the coastal environment.
Thank you so much to all of those who braved the cold with us and helped us fight the war on waste and thank you to Will and Elaine of Crossfit Rosebud who helped spread the word of our event and came down with their members to help us clean, your support means a lot! Also, we would like to thank Tilly Foley for her filming of our event for a school project and we hope to be able to release some of that footage soon!
Onwards and upwards to the next clean!
