Another great turnout for our second January clean up, 56 amazing volunteers gave up their time to clean up 52kgs of other peoples rubbish.

We had our highest ever count of cig butts, metal caps and polystyrene. Our volunteers collected 2565 cigarette butts, 249 metal caps and over 350 pieces of polystyrene.

Not sure what people think will happen to their cigarette butts when they just drop them on the ground, I'm guessing most wouldn't understand that they are really plastic... that doesn't break down. Maybe some signage explaining this may make people think about it a bit more.

Details were

Plastic bottles - 76
Plastic cups - 24
Cans - 54
