A great attendance yesterday with 30 of us cleaning the beach at Ricketts Point near the Yacht Club. It may be autumn but it was still a lovely morning! 17 bags of litter were collected in total, roughly 38 Kg in weight.
Such a thorough job by everyone, especially as a lot of the rubbish was small fragments of different plastics and wrappers, cigarette butts (roughly 690 collected) and straws (106 counted!). Thanks for all your hard work!
It was evident that most of the litter had washed in from the tides and drains, after some heavy rainfall in the week. Amongst the plastic, we also found a lot of polystyrene, lolly sticks, coffee cups and dog poo & bags along this part of the beach.
