What a great start to the year! A huge thanks to everyone who joined us for February's beach clean!
It was a beautiful morning for the first beach clean of the year! A great turn out of 34 volunteers with 4 new families joining in that have recently signed up! 19 bags of litter were collected and a few larger items (tin of paint - unopened and part of a car wheel arch!), totaling about 55Kg in weight.
Many thanks to everyone for your efforts this month.
The most common items of litter were cigarette butts, small plastic fragments, confectionery/chip bags and bottle. There were quite a few recyclables (51 glass & plastic bottles and 36 cans) collected. Odd items this month were; shoes, thongs, reflectors from bikes, texta pen as well as the unopened tin of paint and car wheel arch!
