3207BeachPatrol had their Feb clean last weekend. With 35 volunteers, we cleaned two of our beaches. The most littered item was the discarded bottle, Coke bottles, water bottles (another Coke product), beer bottles and more. These were in the shrubbery along side the beaches. People must think this is a dumping ground. Approx 50 bottles were removed from 200 m of trees.
The beaches them selves were quite clean as it had been calm the previous days and a number of local people come out early in the morning we see and pick up litter on their own as they walk along the beach.
The zone managers from 3186Beachpatrol did a surprise drop by to help clean up our beaches and see how we operate out group at the same time.
