3198 Beach Patrol was windy and fun. It was a great relief to see Ross and Ramona Headifen making their way to wards the Seaford Pier with their wisdom and support. We had a total of 14 volunteers participating in the clean. All wearing great big smiles, including one local fisherman home we worded up on communicating with the other fishers, the correct disposal of fishing lines and hooks.
Thanks also to Woolworths Seaford, New Harvest Organic GreenGrocer, Impact Volunteering, for their advice, and the Peninsula Health service SHARPS for their training in correct handling and disposal of the sharps we may find during our cleans.
Finally, like to leave you with this quote that been popping up in my social media feed, I think is particularly relevant to the Beach Patrol Movement. "We all have problems, it is how we solve them that makes us different". The issue of plastic wastes is a problem that we all have in common and I believe, what makes Beach Patrol Australia different is their approaching local communities to address the issue to start to make the changes that will help us all
