What started as a wet morning turned out to be lovely - just as the beach clean kicked off! A lot of rubbish was picked up so this additional beach clean location to Half Moon Bay was well worth it. Great to see 26 of our volunteers doing their bit to help clean up the beach.
Many thanks to everyone for their tremendous efforts this month. Overall, 28 full bags of litter were collected, roughly 60Kg in weight.
The most common items of litter were cigarette butts (405), small plastic fragments, confectionery/chip bags and bottles. There were a lot of recyclables (89 glass & plastic bottles and 31 cans) collected. Fishing line and polystyrene foam were also quite common in the collection.
