This month we cleaned the Head Street jetty end of the beach and we were pleased to have 16 volunteers turn up on a cool winter morning.  The team collected 16kg of litter which was a great contribution to keeping our beach clean!

Next month we will meet at the Point Ormond car park end of the beach for a clean up on 25 July at 9am.

We had a total of 14 volunteers participating in the clean. All wearing great big smiles, including one local fisherman home we worded up on communicating with the other fishers, the correct disposal of fishing lines and hooks.

3199 Beach Patrol Inaugural Clean
In all, about 20 came along however some had to leave early due to other commitments leaving us with 15 volunteers, one of whom, Mark, was a walk up.

We managed to cover the ground between Kannanook Creek to the rocks just before the Oliver's Hill car park and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

There were some great photos however unfortunately our photographer, Ann, hit delete instead of transfer, so the only shot I have is a screen shot of our magnificent Beach Patrol leaders at the launch taken from the video I recorded.

A big thank you to all who came along and especially Ross and Romana Headifen who assisted me in leading my very first beach clean.

Lastly, I would also like to thank our sponsors, Frankston City Council, Bumnings Frankston, Peninsula Surf Centre, Snap Printing Frankston, Peninsula Camera Centre, our supporters, Cignall Frankston who are offering portable ashtrays at cost price for anyone who mentions Beach Patrol and Hang at Foot Street Newsagency and Lotto
