Although it rained, 21 volunteers braved the wet weather to gather an astounding 74.5Kg of litter from Brighton Beaches. Well done!

The closeness to Christmas affected the numbers but we had 4 keen vounteers scouring the beach and foreshore.

Quite a lot of alcohol bottles and cans were found and of course plastic fragments. A fire extinguisher was also found.

For their first clean,  they had nearly 40 people along.  It was great.  They collected approx. 60 kg of litter.;  Harry looks forward to continuing the momentum for next year.

Christmas Clean for 3207BeachPatrol
A beautiful sunny day with a bit of wind at the start that then died off midway through.  A large group of volunteers turned out , 35 people collecting about 50 kg of litter.  5 syringes were recovered.  We covered about 1.3 km

The forecast rain held off for our last Beach Patrol for 2014 on Saturday 6 December at Ricketts Point.  We finished the clean with a great Christmas BBQ to celebrate our first 6 months of existence and the holiday break.  Resuming BP on 7 February.

A very small turn out for the second beach clean last weekend near Bonbeach LSC.  The weather was hot even at 9.30am but we still managed to pick up 14.2kg of rubbish.  We even found a picture frame and a workman's boot!

November Clean up
November's clean up saw a drop in attendance which was a little disappointing but the up side was we had some new volunteers.   The 15 adults and kids in attendance collected 20.5 kg of rubbish.

Elwood's November Beach clean up saw some extra assistance from the Cubs, who helped us cover plenty of ground during our one hour clean up!

Next month, Elwood Beach Patrol turns One!  Come along to clean up and celebrate this important birthday milestone (on Sat 20 December).
